Being located in such a natural wonderland, it is not surprising that so many people visit Ladysmith, BC to enjoy some of the many outdoor activities available. Enjoy mountain biking or hiking on the great local trails, or get wet with scuba diving, kayaking or swimming. There's even an opportunity to check out a variety of marine wildlife including hundreds of types of birds. Some of the hiking opportunities include the Holland Creek Trails and a trip to Heart Lake. Make sure you bring your camera so you can bring home memories of the great views, fantastic flora and in case you run into one of the many deer families living in the area. Visit Transfer Beach located in the harbor, where you will find warm saltwater to swim and kayaks to rent. Awesome views abound at this location, and it is the perfect spot for an afternoon picnic. In town you can walk around and enjoy the hundred year old buildings, visit the array of boutiques and stores, or check out some of the many historical sites that Ladysmith, BC has to offer.
