Let me tell all the Painted Turtle guests and website visitors about my last freetime activity:
Swimming surrounded by mountains - experience nature at Cameron Lake! Are you tired of crowded swimming pools? And searching for a nice place to refresh in the actual summer heat? Go swimming at Cameron Lake in Little Qualicum Falls Provincial Park only 35 miles from Nanaimo! I spent a wonderful afternoon there, laying in the sun and swimming in the clear and deep lake. I expected the water to be ice cold but the temperature was just perfect. Additionally, the mountains (Mt. Wesley to the north and Mt. Arrowsmith to the south) and forests around me created a relaxing atmosphere. There are lots of picnic sites at the lake, too, including the Beaufort Picnic Site at the west end. Cameron Lake is also stocked with rainbow and cutthroat trout, and offers good fishing through summer. Extra tip: Also visit famous Cathedral Grove which is in walking distance. I hope you will enjoy your trip there as much as I did! Ann-Christin (aka RUMPS) - PTG Awesome Staff Member
