[caption id="attachment_424" align="alignleft" width="300" caption="Outdoor Market Each Friday at Pioneer Waterfront Plaza"][/caption] Did you know... each Friday from 11.00am - 2.00 pm there is a farmer's market in Pioneer Plaza on the beautiful Nanaimo waterfront? Well, I went to see what the local farmers have to offer and I was actually nicely surprised to discover some locally grown vegetables and for half the price than you see in the supermarket! As I was finishing the walk around the plaza, here comes the bag pipe player, all dressed up in Scottish kilt - playing for the audience for about 15 minutes before the cannon firing at the Bastion.  During the summer, they fire the cannon every day at 12:00 NOON,  and if you are in the crowd, you may be the lucky person chosen to light the fire on the cannon....... how amazing is that?
