Looking for an alternate to a large overcrowded, impersonal and often expensive public bus to get to tourist destinations on Vancouver Island such as Nanaimo, Tofino, Port Alberni, Courtney, or Victoria? TikiTour Bus charges similar prices to the big public bus companies that offer transportation on Vancouver Island to many destinations including the popular bus trip to Tofino. With Larissa, you get there faster and in comfort with no time wasted waiting for people to upload and off load at all the tiny towns - we go direct and stop for random sightseeing and fun short activities along the way. For example, on a hot day we may stop for a swim at a lake so deep they haven't found the bottom, hike up to a huge trestle bridge and risk a train coming and feel like you are in the movie "Stand By Me" and run from the train, hug a tree in Cathedral Grove which is British Columbia’s pride with some of the oldest trees or even perhaps a mini pub crawl along the coast.
TikiTour Bus Company is owned and operated by Larissa Whittle, a 32 year old Kiwi/Canadian who has been living back in Canada for 7 years now. “I started my little company to provide backpackers with the types of personalized travel service I would have like during all my years of backpacking. I feel these things are the essence of Vancouver Island and you shouldn't miss out on them just because you don't have a car and have to take the bus. So for now I have one "Bus" which is actually a 15 seater van and when I get more established and grow as a company I plan to get more of the same vans so it's easier to get to all the little local spots and keep it personable.”

Whether you’re traveling with us to the surfing beaches of the rugged Pacific Rim west coast, heading up to Port Alberni to do a little tubing or rafting, or spending a night or two in the downtown arts district of Nanaimo, we offer a service that our backpacking customers appreciate – you are never dropped without supplies… Before arriving at your destination (whether that is hostel, guesthouse, hotel or campground), Larissa makes a final stop at a grocer/liquor store so you can stock up on supplies! From one backpacker to another, Larissa knows how many hours you waste trying to find supplies, and then luggin’ everything back.
